Acne Scars

Acne scarring is a common concern among many of our patients. The type of acne scarring one can expect depends on the type of acne and how it was treated. Acne scars range in appearance; from shallow depressions to deep and narrow pits. The scars may be skin coloured or darker, or pinkish.

For severe acne, the scarring may be deep, requiring a treatment that is able to reach deep beneath the surface to induce dermal remodelling.

Treatment Options

This bipolar, fractionated, radiofrequency (RF) energy breaks down the scar tissue, and triggers new collagen and elastin production. Undermining the scar helps to reduce its depth. Pain is mild, and swelling and redness are minimal. Several treatments at a monthly interval are required for optimal results.
